Action against illegal colonies, buildings ‘suspended’ temporarily

Jalandhar Commissioner of Police Parveen Sinha, DC Varinder Sharma and MC Commissioner Basant Garg were also present in the meeting. The official machinery was told to stop further action till a meeting with Local Bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu “The demolition work has already been suspended and we shall take up the issue with minister. “There should be no national wastage,” he said.All of them said that they expected to meet Sidhu very soon. “Sidhu should have discussed us beforehand,” he said.However Jalandhar North MLA Bawa Henry appeared to be taking a middle path saying that it should be amicably solved. JALANDHAR: Demolition of illegal colonies and sealing or demolition of commercial buildings, constructed in flagrant violation of building bye-laws, has been suspended for a couple of days.A meeting was held on Monday at PAP in which Jalandhar MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, four MLAs – Pargat Singh, Sushil Rinku, Rajinder Beri and Bawa Henry were present.
