SNIPPETS Tarn Taran: Joginder Singh of Ghagge village, 30 km from here, has been arrested with 270 gm of heroin from Rampur Bhutwind. Sub-Inspector Kulwinder Singh said a case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act had been registered against the accused. Further investigation was to ascertain whom did they get the contraband from, he added. OC Illicit liquor seized Tarn Taran: Two persons have been arrested with 51,750 ml of illicit liquor. The police said Sukha Singh of Goindwal Sahib was caught with 29,250 ml of illicit liquor whereas 22,500 ml of Illicit liquor was seized from the possession of Sarabjit Singh of Bath village. The accused have been booked under Sections 61 and 114 of the Excise Act and further investigation is on, the police said. OCAmritsar: The Civil Veterinary Hospital, Hathi Gate, conducted a free rabies vaccination camp on Friday. Dr Kuljant Singh, veterinary officer, said the MC had collaborated with a private company from Hyderabad for the vaccination. “Pet owners should care for their dogs. The vaccination for rabies is necessary for the pets,” he said. He also urged residents to register their pet dogs with the MC. The civic body has recently decreased the registration fee from Rs 500 to Rs 200. MC officials hope that their drive would get a good response from city residents. TNS
