GNDU ex-professor appointed Chancellor of HP central varsity

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, July 11Former GNDU Prof Dr Harmohinder Singh Bedi, head of Hindi department, has been appointed Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) in Dharmshala.
He was honoured with ‘Kavi Rattan’ by Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sahitya Academy.
Dr Bedi was honoured by former President Pranab Mukherjee for his contribution to the Hindi literature.
He was awarded with Shiromani Hindi Sahityakar by the state government in 2004 while the Uttar Pradesh government also honoured him with Shiromani Sahityakar honour.
Talking to The Tribune, he said that in the capacity of a chancellor, he would focus on providing education facilities to students hailing from remote areas of Himachal Pradesh or other parts of the country.
