AMRITSAR: Stating that mass resignation by Aam Aadmi Party AAP ) leaders was an unfortunate and worrisome incident, party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that a meting of state-level office-bearers would be called to discuss the issue.“I have urged party MP and state chief Bhagawnat Mann to listen to the grievances of these leaders and resolve the issue during the meeting of state-level office-bearers and prepare for 2019 general elections,” he said, adding that it was important for the party to settle the issue.Khaira was here on Monday to hold a meeting with agitating ad hoc teachers of constituent colleges of the Guru Nanak Dev University.On Sunday, 16 leaders of AAP had submitted their resignation in protest against alleged dictatorial attitude of party’s co-convener Balbir Singh.In reply to a question whether these leaders were unhappy with AAP’ Delhi leadership, Khaira said, “Their resentment is not against Delhi leadership but their objections were with the local party in charges. Their complaint was that they were not taken into confidence or informed before taking party decisions.”He said he wold contact all the people who had resigned from the party and would address their grouses on priority.Backing cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu’s accusations on Badal family that they had spent Rs 121 crore on travelling in private helicopters, leader of opposition in assembly Khaira demanded from the government to release a white paper on the use of state’s aircraft and helicopter.Even the details of usages of the official helicopter during nearly one-and-a-half years of Amarinder government should also be made public, he demanded.
