‘Depressed’ man jumps from 3rd floor, dies

He was taken to a Talwandi Sabo hospital from where was referred to Bathinda, where he was declared brought dead. BATHINDA: A 33-year-old man ended life by jumping from the third floor of a residential complex at Takht Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo town of Bathinda late on on Wednesday. The deceased identified as Avtar Singh of Rureke village of Barnala district had gone to the Takht to pay obeisance with his family. His father Jagjit Singh said Avtar was mentally disturbed so he took the extreme step when they were sleeping. He was said to be under depression.According to information, Avtar and his family had gone to the Takht on Wednesday evening.

He was said to be under depression.According to information, Avtar and his family had gone to the Takht on Wednesday evening. They were allotted a room on the third floor of Shaheed Mani Singh complex. Later in the night, Avtar allegedly jumped from the third floor. He was taken to a Talwandi Sabo hospital from where was referred to Bathinda, where he was declared brought dead. His father Jagjit Singh said Avtar was mentally disturbed so he took the extreme step when they were sleeping. The family members denied that Avtar was on drugs.Talwandi Sabo DSP Barinder Singh said according to family members, the deceased was mentally disturbed and took the extreme step. The police took legal action under Section 174 of the CrPC (unnatural death).
