AAP volunteers try to stop Bhagwant Mann, unruly scene follows

BATHINDA: AAP MP Bhagwant Mann faced an unsavoury situation on Monday at the cremation ground of Pandori village in Barnala district. Bouncers accompanying the MP had heated exchanges with some volunteers after which the latter tried to stop Mann’s vehicle. Volunteers Gagan Sra and Karamjit Singh Uppal said they wanted to speak to Mann to lodge their protest . Mann tried to play down the incident and said no such thing happened.After Khaira was unceremoniously removed as the leader of opposition, many AAP workers sided with him and resigned. “Such behaviour can’t be tolerated as these workers voted for him and now he was not ready to listen to them,” he said.

The AAP leader had gone to Pandori to attend cremation of party’s Mehal Kalan MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori’s father.Some AAP volunteers wanted to speak to the Sangrur MP to lodge their protest for calling supporters of ousted leader of opposition in Punjab assembly Sukhpal Singh Khaira as agents of the BJP and RSS. As Mann avoided them, it led to an unruly scene. Bouncers accompanying the MP had heated exchanges with some volunteers after which the latter tried to stop Mann’s vehicle. Mann tried to play down the incident and said no such thing happened.After Khaira was unceremoniously removed as the leader of opposition, many AAP workers sided with him and resigned. Volunteers Gagan Sra and Karamjit Singh Uppal said they wanted to speak to Mann to lodge their protest . “He was avoiding us and tried to reach his vehicle. We went near it and tried to stop him but his bouncers misbehaved with us,” alleged Sra.Another AAP volunteer Pargat Singh said due to the rude behaviour of the MP’s bouncers they raised slogans against him and decided to oppose his visit to the villages in their area. “Such behaviour can’t be tolerated as these workers voted for him and now he was not ready to listen to them,” he said.
