AMRITSAR: A person was brutally assaulted by his fiancée's relatives in Amritsar on Thursday. They beat him up, took his clothes off and made him run in the streets of majitha road in just an underwear after which they stripped him naked.The police came into action only after a video, presumably made by the alleged accused themselves, went viral. However, no arrest has been made so far.Additional deputy commissioner police Lakhbir Singh informed TOI on Thursday that the victim has been identified as Chanchal Singh, a resident of Kale Ghanpurwalae who had gone to Sandhu Colony on Majitha Road to meet his fiancée. But her cousin along with his friends thrashed Chanchal, made him run in the streets in his underwear and later stripped him naked.He informed that police have identified three alleged accused but no arrest has been made so far in this incident. "The search operations are on and we will nab them soon," he said.Lakhbir informed that police have registered a case under section 323, 341, 324, 379 B, IPC and 67 Information Technology Act.In the video Chanchal, with a blood-stained face, is seen folding hands and asking them to let him go. In another clip, he is seen running barefoot while wearing only underwear in the streets and being chased by them on motorcycles. In another clip, Chanchal is seen naked and being thrashed on grass ground.Sources informed that Chanchal was engaged with a girl from Sandhu Colony but due to some reasons the engagement was broken but Chanchal and the girl remained in touch against the wishes of girl’s family members. "When Chanchal went to meet her on Wednesday in Sandhu Colony, he was stopped by girls' cousin who was accompanied with his friends and then they blamed him for imposing upon relation on the girl and thrashed him," said sources.
