JALANDHAR: While SAD has claimed that its rally at Faridkot on Sunday was a big success and took pot shots on Congress and Punjab government, Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar has said that the timing and choice of venue of rally speaks volumes about "the arrogance and insensitivity" of the party president Sukhbir Badal towards Sikh panth as this place was epicentre of the sacrilege incidents and the unfortunate events that unfolded in its aftermath."Let Sukhbir Badal explain to the people that why were they so jubilant at the rally at a time when the heinous incident of firing was completing three years. It reflects the immaturity of Akali leaders including Sukhbir," he said while speaking to media persons here.He said that instead of apologizing from the victims of this carnage, "power drunk" Sukhbir chose to organize this rally and challenge their pride."This arrogance at the rally would act as the last nail in the coffin of the Sukhbir Singh Badal led modern Akali Dal, which was squarely responsible for carnage of innocent Sikhs in Bargari," he said, adding 'It is shameless that Sukhbir and his coterie were triumphing over rally at Faridkot to rub salt into wounds of those innocents Sikhs who were mercilessly killed on their orders. It is unfortunate that Sukhbir is misconstruing his mistake, of ordering the firing, as an act of bravery and rejoicing over it in Faridkot"."Instead of this jubilation Sukhbir should have repented for sacrilege incidents happened during their tenure and sought forgiveness from the families of victims of this tragedy," he said. He said that Akali Dal would have to face the consequences of the arrogant attitude of Sukhbir in the coming days because the rally was organized by him just to boast that three years ago they have ordered firing in Kotakpura and even today they do not want to apologies for it."The simmering anger against Sukhbir and his henchmen has now turned into sheer hatred against them," he said. "Core issue remains that Sukhbir should reveal that who ordered firing," he said.
