AMRITSAR: After the ‘London Declaration,’ Sikh separatists are all set to hold a three-day Paris session of ‘World Sikh Parliament’ at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Bobeney in France, from September 28 to further their agenda— separation of Punjab from India.They would also eulogize the participation of Sikh militants killed in the separatist movement in Punjab in the 1980s and 1990s. A flyer released by the organizers including Shingara Singh, Joga Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Manpreeet Singh has the photographs of militant leaders Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Jagtar Singh Hawara, who was convicted for the assassination of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh and is currently lodged in Tihar jail. Hawara was also appointed “jathedar” of the Akal Takht by a gathering of Sikhs held under the name of ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ near Amritsar on November 10, 2015.Sources informed that some of the organizers had links with British Sikh national Jagtar Singh Johal, currently under arrest in India, for his alleged involvement in the murder of Hindu leaders in Punjab.

One of them is currently touring Europe to ensure participation of Sikh hardliners in the Paris event and generate financial resources to fuel the fire in Punjab,” said sources.When contacted, a Sikh in France, Iqbal Singh Bhatti, who is general secretary of Dastar Action Committee, France, expressed ignorance about the ‘World Sikh Parliament.’ “I have seen the flyer on social media but I don’t know anything about the organizers or the event,” he said.Rights body Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) had held the ‘London Declaration’ to mobilize support for the self-conceived ‘Referendum 2020.’ Since that event, WSP is considered as the next biggest event inviting Sikh hardliners from across Europe and other countries for anti-India propaganda. The flyer also says that the message of Jagtar Singh Hawara will also be read during the WSP.
