Woman tries to sneak drugs into jail for hubby, arrested

FEROZEPUR: Police have arrested a woman for allegedly trying to smuggle 30 habit-forming tablets into the central jail here for her husband, an accused in a drugs case, on Saturday.Chhindo Bai had come to meet her husband, Jaswant Singh , an undertrial in a case of smuggling drugs and cheating. Assistant sub-inspector Dalip Kumar, the investigation officer, confirmed the arrest. When Bai was frisked, policewomen on duty at the prison found her in possession of the restricted tablets.Bai has been booked under a section of the Prisons Act, 1894.
