Punjab: Bathinda IG reviews security at HMEL refinery

BATHINDA: Bathinda range IG MF Farooqui and SSP Nanak Singh on Tuesday visited the Hindustan Petroleum - Moittal Energy Limited (HMEL) Refinery at village Phulokhari.The officers reviewed the security arrangements around the refinery and met the senior management officials. He assured his cooperation in smooth and uninterrupted operations of the refinery. HMEL vice president operations Krishan Tuteja and vice president technical services Ramesh Chugh gave them an overview of the refinery operations.The police officials were also given detailed presentation by the HMEL security team regarding the crude oil pipeline as well as the state-of–the-art security and disaster management systems.Farooqui acknowledged the critical importance of the refinery infrastructure for the region and highlighted the need of the refinery security team and use of latest security surveillance gadgets to handle any untoward situation.
