Amritsar/Bathinda: Even as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader H S Phoolka expressed regret on Monday over his comments accusing Army chief General Bipin Rawat of orchestrating the grenade attack on Nirankari congregation in Amritsar, the Congress, BJP and Hindu groups continued to attack him.In Amritsar, Congress MLA Rajkumar Verka lodged a complaint against him at Cantonment police station, while BJP leader Luxmi Kanta Chawla burnt Phoolka's effigy.In Bathinda , activists of Hindu outfits filed a police complaint, demanding that a case be registered against him.On Sunday, Phoolka had said: "Army Chief came and made a statement. To prove his statement, he could have orchestrated the (grenade) attack. This matter should be looked into. Did government do it (attack)? Did the earlier government do it now? It is wrong to repeatedly say that Punjab's atmosphere is not good... Those who made false statements about Maur blast, what action has been taken against them?"On Monday, he tweeted to clarify: "Please see whole video. An inadvertent statement made standing on road is being blown out of proportion. I have stated that history is evidence of that fact that governments in the past have caused violence to further their interest. Like in last year's Maur blast no one should reach a conclusion without detailed impartial investigation. Even a moderate person like me who has always been against Khalistan thinks so. I regret statement that may have purported to be against the Army Chief."Accompanied by Congress MLAs Inderbir Bolaria and Sunil Dutti, Verka said, "Phooka's statement is highly divisive and will demoralize the Indian Army ." He demanded that the MLA be booked for sedition."Terrorists have made an attempt to disrupt the peace of Punjab by attacking the Nirankari Bhawan, in that context Phoolka's statement has not only rubbed salt on the wounds of Punjab but also insulted the Indian Army," Chawla said.Members of All India Hindu Shiv Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Monday assembled at the Post Office Bazaar in Bathinda and accused Phoolka of politicizing the terror attack.Sena members Sandeep Kumar, Yogesh Batish and VHP member Sukhpal Sra said that Phoolka should have avoided dragging the Army in.
