BARNALA: Days before Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has to start campaigning for Sangrur parliamentary constituency for upcoming elections by holding a rally at Barnala , Punjab Local Bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu started the campaign on Tuesday by distributing grants for water supply and sewerage in the entire constituency.Sidhu announced Rs 310 crore for Sangrur and Barnala districts which are part of Sangrur parliamentary constituency with Rs210 crore in Sangrur in the presence of PWD minister Container Singla and Rs. 100 crore in Barnala in presence of Punjab Congress vice president and former MLA Kewal Singh . He claimed that government h ave further plans for Dhuri and other towns and claimed nearly Rs 600 crore in all will be spent in the constituency to plug the water and sewerage woes. He claimed that money will not be allowed to come in the way of developmental activity in Punjab.Kejriwal have to address the rally on January 20 for which AAP is trying hard to save mobilise people.Navjot Sidhu addressing people at the residence of Kewal Dhillon said that state government has chalked out plans for the sewerage, water supply and internal roads of cities. We have started work on it and the money will be started provided ding for set righting the civic amenities in few days. Sidhu was accompanied by officials including local bodies director Karunesh Sharma and Punjab sewerage board chief executive Ajoy A who outlined the details of projects.Sidhu while talking to TOI said that "after campaigning successfully in three states of MP, Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh, termed as semifinal, I have been told about bigger role in the finals in the upcoming parliamentary elections. As Congress president Rahul Gandhi is my ultimate captain and whatever role is assigned to me I will discharge my duty with utmost devotion". He said I may be asked to campaign at many places and I am ready for that". He however was non committal on contesting the parliamentary elections and said it is not the time to speak about it and it is the prerogative of party high command. Commenting about war of words on Kartarpur Sahib corridor, he said I never work for any credit but want that originality of the place nerd to be preserved. The both places near corridor in India and in Pakistan should be declared as Heritage places.He said that Congress will look into the matter of MLA Kulbir Singh Zira as Zita represents nearly 2 lakh person we will have to check what his grouses are and will look if anything wrong is being committed at any level. "If any wrongs have been done at any level it will be checked into and appropriate action will be taken".Kewal Singh Dhillon said that during the previous SAD-BJP government many announcements about sanctioning of money were made but Barnala never got anything and it is only now that Congress government especially chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu have delivered.
