JALANDHAR: AAP MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan claimed on Sunday that his party would ask the state government to make public the contents of the Justice Gurnam Singh Commission report, which had probed into sacrilege and police firing deaths in Nakodar in February 1986.At the time, five birs of the Guru Granth Sahib were burnt by miscreants. Soon after, a protest was staged in Naokdar. To control the crowd, police had fired at the protesters, killing four men who were part of the agitation. Sandhwan attended the 33rd anniversary of the incidents at Litran village near Nakodar. He said the party would raise the issue in the upcoming budget session to demand that the report be tabled in the assembly and action to be taken on it. Other speakers also demanded that the report be made public and tabled in the assembly.Dakha MLA H S Phoolka has written a letter to Punjab CM Amarinder Singh to table the report and has also announced to raise the issue in the assembly .The religious function was organized by family of Ravinder Singh of Litran village who was among the four victims.
