BATHINDA: A Jeep carrying smuggled liquor overturned after breaking the police cordon near village Tarewala here in Moga on Thursday. The Jeep overturned and one person died whereas other was arrested and 170 cases of liquor were recovered. One person travelling in the vehicle died, while police arrested the driver of the Jeep and recovered 170 cases of liquor. The liquor is said to have been brought from Haryana Charrik police station SHO inspector Dilbagh Singh said, "ASI Tara Singh associated with excise department on a tip off that a jeep is bringing liquor, had laid a naka near village Tarewala. It has come to fore that the inmates of Jeep were in constant touch with someone on phone.
