Head constable, 3 others booked for forgery

Amritsar, June 7A head constable and a SAD leader are among four persons booked by the rural police for forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy after they allegedly helped a theft accused get police clearance. Those booked have been identified as Head Constable Chaman Lal, SAD leader Zorawar Singh, Paramjit Kaur and her son Jatinder Singh, both residents of Ajnala. Amritsar, June 7 A head constable and a SAD leader are among four persons booked by the rural police for forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy after they allegedly helped a theft accused get police clearance. The accused later fled to a foreign country. The case has been registered following a probe and taking the opinion of the district attorney in this regard. Those booked have been identified as Head Constable Chaman Lal, SAD leader Zorawar Singh, Paramjit Kaur and her son Jatinder Singh, both residents of Ajnala. A case under Sections 167, 218, 177, 199, 200, 420, 466, 471 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered. No arrest has been made till now. Victim Harjit Kaur lodged a complaint with the police in March this year while alleging that Jatinder Singh was booked under Sections 380, 497 and 120-B of the IPC in 2017, even then Head Constable Chaman Lal, in connivance with others, gave police clearance to him so that he could flee abroad. An investigation was carried out by SP (Investigations).
