Amritsar, June 8 Perturbed after being “harassed” by a woman, a youth committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance here on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Deepak (32), a resident of Majitha road. Acting on the statement of his father Sardul Singh, the police have booked the woman, a resident of Tarn Taran, who now resides at Moon Avenue. According to the complainant, Deepak had extramarital affair with the accused. He said Deepak was married to Kulwinder Kaur around nine years ago and had two children from the marriage. He said for the past one year, the deceased was in contact with the accused. Around 20 days ago, he came to him and informed that he had made a mistake as he had been living with the accused, who harassed him very much, he claimed. According to the complainant, a few days ago the deceased visited him again and informed that he was disturbed. On Thursday, he took the extreme step and consumed poison at the accused’s residence at Moon Avenue and died in a hospital on Friday. The police have registered a case under Section 306 of the IPC against the woman while no arrest has been made till now. THECASE Deepak (32), a resident of Majitha road, had been in contact with a woman for the past one year. He had been residing with her and for the past couple of days he had been complaining of harassment, his father alleged.
