Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, June 15The district administration is observing anti-drug fortnight from June 12 to June 26 as part of its programme to encourage addicts to shun drugs through de-addiction facilities. She said schoolchildren were also being taught about harms of drugs and its social and physical implications. The government is running 10 OAT centres which proved to be a boon for people, Kalia said. She said patients had to undergo a two-year medicine course to shun the habit of drugs completely. She added that during the fortnight, events are being organised to reach out to masses and educate them about the facilities available for drug de-addiction.
