Two killed, 1 hurt in road mishap

A “speeding” car hit the victims’ bike, resulting in the mishap. The deceased have been identified as Yadwinder Singh Jagga (25) and Gurvel Singh (55) of Sarai Amanat Khan. Our Correspondent Tarn Taran, June 17 Two persons were killed and another sustained severe injuries in a road accident on Chabal-Attari road, near Baghiari village, 20 km from here, on Monday. A “speeding” car hit the victims’ bike, resulting in the mishap. The deceased have been identified as Yadwinder Singh Jagga (25) and Gurvel Singh (55) of Sarai Amanat Khan. The injured, Yadbeer Singh, of Gandiwind Saran was taken to Bir Baba Budha Sahib Charitable Hospital, Thatha, from where he was referred to a hospital in Amritsar. The three worked at construction sites. They were going to Chabal for their work on a bike (PB02AP3514) when a Verna car (PB15D8191) hit them head-on near Baghiari village. All three were taken to Bir Baba Budha Sahib Hospital where Gurvel Singh was declared dead. Two others were referred to an Amritsar hospital. Yadwinder Singh Jagga succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital. Yadwinder Singh was married just six months ago. The police have registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279, 427, 148 and 149 of the IPC against the car driver, identified as Rachhpal Singh, a resident of Valtoha.
