Clearing pending files is AIT chairman’s priority

During his maiden meeting with officials, he directed them to be swift in executing tasks. He informed that a WhatsApp group would be formed for the dwellers to air their grievances pertaining to the AIT schemes. After listening to their grievances, Bassi said ‘rehris’ (carts) would be allowed to install in the earmarked zone. He announced that shanties over AIT land would be removed and occupants would be shifted to flats.

Amritsar, July 15 Dinesh Bassi, newly appointed chairman of the Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT), has instructed officials to clear the pending backlog of files. During his maiden meeting with officials, he directed them to be swift in executing tasks. Interacting with mediapersons here after the meeting here on Monday, he said stress would be on finishing the pending works pertaining to residential and commercial colonies of the city. He informed that a WhatsApp group would be formed for the dwellers to air their grievances pertaining to the AIT schemes. The officials will be its members to keep a watch on the pace of redressel of grievances and execution of development plans. A section of residents from the New Amritsar locality met him and requested to conduct elections. They alleged the election was long overdue and it must be conducted at the earliest. They also informed him that a shed, built for the aged, had been demolished which needed to reconstruction. After listening to their grievances, Bassi said ‘rehris’ (carts) would be allowed to install in the earmarked zone. He announced that shanties over AIT land would be removed and occupants would be shifted to flats.
