Amritsar, August 19 Armed youth with covered faces entered Government Senior Secondary School at Gumanpura village and looted cash and jewellery from the family members of watchman Baldev Singh. The incident came to light when school principal Nirmaljit Kaur lodged a complaint with the Gharinda police in this regard. According to the principal, the accused, five in number, were equipped with sharp weapons. They entered the school premises by jumping over the wall in the intervening night of August 15-16. They took the watchman Baldev Singh hostage, tied arms and covered his eyes. They removed gold earrings of his wife and daughter and later took out Rs 12,000, gold rings and silver bangles from almirah. They tempered with the school record and fled. The police have started investigation and registered a case in this regard.
