Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna launched

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, August 20The district Health Department on Tuesday organised an event at Government Medical College here to launch Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon said a total of three lakh people would be benefited from the health scheme in the district. He said people could call toll free number 104 for detailed information regarding the scheme. He said beneficiaries would get free treatment benefit of the scheme for three days prior to admission and 15 days post admission. A total of 85 hospitals in the district had applied for the empanelment out of which 34 had been registered so far.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon said a total of three lakh people would be benefited from the health scheme in the district. He said a cashless treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh would be available to the beneficiaries at government hospitals and empanelled private hospitals. Dhillon said operations and surgeries available at multi-specialty hospitals were part of the package. He said there was no upper limit on the number of family members and their age. The Deputy Commissioner said all small traders, Amart Ration card holder families, farmers (holding J forms) and construction workers as identified in the socio-economic census would avail the benefit. He said people could call toll free number 104 for detailed information regarding the scheme. He said beneficiaries would get free treatment benefit of the scheme for three days prior to admission and 15 days post admission. A total of 85 hospitals in the district had applied for the empanelment out of which 34 had been registered so far. Senior officials of the district administration and Health Department were present on the occasion.
