Neeraj BaggaTribune News ServiceAmritsar, September 4The work of beautifying the parking lot at the Amritsar railway station is under way on a war footing. However, a matching environment is missing from the railway link road, which is marred by rampant encroachments and lack of hygiene. NS Gabarhia, a resident of the Railway Link road, said pedestrians did not find space to walk on the footpath as they remained occupied for commercial activities. Rajesh Aggarwal, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ferozepur Division, said the Amritsar railway station’s parking lots, outside platform No.1, were being revamped with separate arrival and departure lanes. Besides, LED lighting, landscaping, road furniture with benches, solar studs, cat eye reflectors, thermo plastic line and CCTV cameras would be installed at the parking lot.
