Artist’s ‘After the Bath’ has earned praise across globeTribune News ServiceAmritsar, September 6Celebrating the 120th birth anniversary of the noted artist SG Thakar Singh, the Indian Academy of Fine Arts(IAFA) opened an exhibition of his famous art works. Twenty-two of his most acclaimed works have been put up at the exhibition for public and art lovers. The IAFA also honoured seven art teachers to mark the Teacher’s Day in the memory of Thakar Singh. Born in 1899 in Verka, near Amritsar, Thakar Singh was awarded Padma Shri in 1973. A landscape artist, he spent later years of his life in Amritsar where he founded the Thakar Singh School of Arts that turned into an art gallery later.
