Police stay on tenterhooks

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, September 7The police remained on their toes to maintain law and order in the city on Saturday. Though the Punjab government had banned the telecast of the serial, the community members held demonstrations at different parts of the city to lodge their protest. DC Shiv Dullar Singh Dhillon in a late evening ordered banning airing of the serial in order to pacify the community members so that no untoward incident occurs. Young community members were seen zooming on bikes and getting the shops shut down in the city. They raised slogans against the tele serial producer and director.
