The move has been announced as part of celebrations of International Literacy Day on September 8. The International Literacy Day is a day to reflect upon literacy rates, challenges of the world. The CBSE is holding reading week to promote reading habits among students. The activities carried out by students during the Reading Week can be assessed as part of the subject enrichment activities for classes up to secondary level.
