SGPC seeks police help over video

IN BRIEFAmritsar: The SGPC has approached the Amritsar police and cyber crime cell to initiate action against the person who has uploaded an objectionable video on social media hurting Sikh sentiments. A video went viral in which Sikh ethics and principles were challenged by some miscreants, who projected idol worshipping in an obnoxious manner. An image of Golden Temple, along with Sikh religious symbols, was also visible. SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal has appealed the government to make a law to check such actions and book culprits. Amritsar (rural) SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal warned manufacturers and stockists of firecrackers to restrain from the illegal act.
