Grandparents’ Day celebrated

CAMPUS NOTESAmritsar: Shri Ram Ashram Public School celebrated Grandparents’ Day here on Thursday. This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school campus to deepen the connection between grandparents and grandchildren. The event titled 'Grandparents Day' was a perfect amalgamation of kala and utsav. A smart school is destined to have world-class facilities, including solar panels and sound infrastructure. Smart schools are being developed with the help of government.

CAMPUS NOTES Amritsar: Shri Ram Ashram Public School celebrated Grandparents’ Day here on Thursday. Students of Nursery and LKG classes participated in the event. PS Grover (chairman Preet Hospital and chairman Rotary Club, Amritsar, South East) graced the occasion as chief guest. Principal Vinodita Sankhyan and education adviser SN Joshi welcomed the chief guest. Grandparents are the real assets of family, she said. So, we should love and respect them. This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school campus to deepen the connection between grandparents and grandchildren. The event titled 'Grandparents Day' was a perfect amalgamation of kala and utsav. The event commenced with 'tilak' ceremony of grandparents. The young buds spell bounded all with their effervescent dance performance on the song 'Love You Zindagi'. Various games were organised to raise the entertainment factor like modelling, Hum Bi Agar Bache Hote and Naya Daur Purani Ada. tns 75 schools turn smart Amritsar: A total of 75 government schools in the district have been made smart. Out of 75 schools, 54 schools are under the smart city project, while remaining school are under the state government. Besides, 112 schools in the district will be converted into self-smart schools. Self-smart schools will be converted into smart school with the community's help. A smart school is destined to have world-class facilities, including solar panels and sound infrastructure. Smart schools are being developed with the help of government. tns Lecture on taxation system Amritsar: The department of chemistry organised an inter-disciplinary lecture on "Taxation System in India" under the aegis of PC Ray Chemical Society, supported under Star College Scheme, DBT and Government of India. Prof Sajan of DAV College was the keynote speaker during the event. Principal Rajesh Kumar encouraged the students for participating in such inert disciplinary activities as such events help them in overall personality development. Prof Sajan interacted with students and gave an overview of the tax system prevailing in India and briefed about the GST and its implications on Indian economy. tns KCA student clears NET Amritsar: Surjit Singh, a student of PG department of political science, Khalsa College, has cleared the UGC-NET. Dr Mehal Singh, principal, Khalsa College, congratulated him and gave him best wishes. Faculty members of the department of political science, including Prof Jaspreet Kaur (HoD), Prof Devender Singh (Registrar), Dr Gurvel Singh Malhi, Dr Harbilas Singh Randhawa, Dr Dawinder Kaur, Dr Baljit Singh and Prof Shailarjeet Kaur felicitated him on Monday. tns Aditi tops district in m.com Amritsar: Students of DAV College bagged merit positions in the university examinations, results of which were declared recently by Guru Nanak Dev University. Aditi Madaan bagged the fourth position in the MCom (Sem-II) examination in the university and first position in the district. Principal Rajesh Kumar congratulated Prof Rajnish Popi, and Aditi Madaan for achieving the distinction. tns DC felicitates teachers Amritsar: As many as 100 school principals were felicitated at Sadda Pind on Sunday. The felicitation was a part of Teacher's Day celebrations. Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon was the chief guest on the occasion. He lauded the achievements of the principals and felicitated them with Radhakrishnan Award. Dr Dharamveer Singh and Dr Anjana Gupta from Sahodaya, Amritsar, were also present.
