Estate office removes encroachments

Meanwhile, officials asked auto dealers, tyre shopkeepers alongside Court Road to remove their vehicles and goods otherwise be ready to face action as per the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court (HC). A few months ago, the MC had conducted an anti-encroachment drive at Court Road and warned auto dealers to park their vehicles inside the showroom. Estate Officer Sushant Bhatia said, “It is our last warning to the auto dealers and owners of tyre shops. The estate office said it would continue with the drive and would not let anyone display goods on footpaths.

A large number of vends and goods of several shopkeepers were seized. Meanwhile, officials asked auto dealers, tyre shopkeepers alongside Court Road to remove their vehicles and goods otherwise be ready to face action as per the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court (HC). A few months ago, the MC had conducted an anti-encroachment drive at Court Road and warned auto dealers to park their vehicles inside the showroom. Estate Officer Sushant Bhatia said, “It is our last warning to the auto dealers and owners of tyre shops. We will seize their vehicles and goods next time. On the directions of Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu and MC Commissioner Harbir Singh, we will not exempt anyone violating rules.” Separate teams under the supervision of Inspector Chander Parkash, Surinder Sharma, Kuldeep Singh conducted the anti-encroachment drive at City Centre, court complex, Chheharta and Putlighar. The estate office said it would continue with the drive and would not let anyone display goods on footpaths.
