BRIEFLY Tarn Taran: A 60-year-old-man ended his life in Kale village after his daughter-in-law accused him of sexual harassment on Friday. He has been identified as Gurnam Singh. Kamaljit Kaur and her mother Joginder Kaur of Mari Theh Wali village have been booked. The police found a suicide note in which Gurnam blamed both for his extreme step. On September 12, Kamaljit Kaur had lodged a sexual harassment complaint against Gurnam Singh. Joginder has been arrested and Kamaljit is at large. OC 4 mobiles seized from jail inmates Amritsar: Central Jail authorities confiscated mobiles from four jail inmates during a search here on Friday. They have been identified as Shamsher Singh of Khera village, Ashish Rai of Mahan Singh Gate, Gurjit Singh of Batala Road and Bikramjit Singh of Jalupur Khera village. They said that while checking room number 8 of barrack number 2, jail guards found two mobiles with SIM cards. In room number 2 of barrack 4, jail staff seized a phone with a SIM card from Gurjit Singh. Bikramjit was caugth possessing a phone with SIM card. TNS Polio campaign from today Amritsar: Civil Surgeon Dr Hardeep Singh Ghai took stock of preparations for the three-day polio immunisation drive in the district which is to start on Sunday. At a meeting of the district task force, Dr Ghai said the department had identified 1.27 lakh children below five, who would be immunised. TNS
