Police to probe accomplice’s role in gangster’s murder

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, September 15The police have started probing the role of Angrej Singh in the murder of gangster Rajat Malhotra alias Karan Masti. Masti’s body was found in an abandoned car in Ghaziabad area in November last year. Masti, along with Angrej Singh, Shubham Singh and his other accomplices, had been on run after committing a heist at a jewellery house in Guru Bazaar area in mid-September in 2018. Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (detective), said the interrogation of Angrej Singh had led the police to suspect that he had murdered Masti. He is a member of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and is wanted by the police in multiple murder cases, besides five bank dacoity cases.

Amritsar, September 15 The police have started probing the role of Angrej Singh in the murder of gangster Rajat Malhotra alias Karan Masti. Masti’s body was found in an abandoned car in Ghaziabad area in November last year. His body had several injury marks. Masti, along with Angrej Singh, Shubham Singh and his other accomplices, had been on run after committing a heist at a jewellery house in Guru Bazaar area in mid-September in 2018. They also shot dead Congress Councillor Gurdeep Pehalwan in June last year. Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (detective), said the interrogation of Angrej Singh had led the police to suspect that he had murdered Masti. He took the help of Delhi or UP-based gangster in committing the crime. However, he added that the matter was still under investigation and nothing could be said for sure. Angrej was nabbed by CIA staff from Tarn Taran area earlier this month. He is a member of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and is wanted by the police in multiple murder cases, besides five bank dacoity cases. The police had then seized a .45 bore pistol with 24 cartridges and two 9mm pistols with 20 bullets from his possession.
