Exempt toll tax to Darbar Sahib: NGO

Amritsar, September 15A local NGO demanded the government to make Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, pilgrimage toll tax free. Principal Kulwant Singh Ankhi, patron Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) stated that during the meeting of high powered delegation of Indian Gvernment with the delegation of officers of Pakistan Government at Attari on September 4, the Indian Government objected to proposed 20 US Dollars Service charges for the pilgrims visiting Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib (Pakistan) from Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur district). “We demand the Indian Government to exempt toll tax during Darbar Sahib pilgrimage. It would also promote tourism,” added Ankhi.
