Chawla: Explain utilisation of cow cess fund

Amritsar, September 19Senior BJP leader Laxmi Kanta Chawla has criticised Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tripta Rajinder Singh Bajwa for his alleged statement about the solution to the problem of stray animals in the state. Chawla alleged that by stating the only solution to the stray cattle problem was culling, the minister has shown his insensitivity towards the issue. She said the solution stated by the minister was against religious sentiments of the community. She asked the government to explain that how much money was collected as cow cess and how much of it was being spent on the welfare of cattle. Chawla also demanded action against farmers who abandon their animals after they stop producing milk.
