Four cellphones seized from jail

BRIEFLYAmritsar: The Central Jail authorities confiscated four mobile phones from three inmates during a surprise checking here on Thursday. The inmates have been identified as Ramandeep Singh of Kotla Tarkhana, Amrik Singh of Kot Khalsa and Sukhjit Singh of Kasail village in Tarn Taran. According to the police, the jail staff found a Samsung mobile phone from Ramandeep and two cellphones from Amrik during the checking of the barrack number 6 and room number 8. Further investigations were underway to ascertain how they managed to get mobile phones in the Central Jail, said the police. The renewal of online applications of the Central Board of Secondary Education Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child Class X pass awarded in 2018.

According to the police, the jail staff found a Samsung mobile phone from Ramandeep and two cellphones from Amrik during the checking of the barrack number 6 and room number 8. A cellphone was found from Sukh. Further investigations were underway to ascertain how they managed to get mobile phones in the Central Jail, said the police. TNS Three booked on sodomy charge Tarn Taran: The Chabal police have booked three students of Government School, Pandori Ran Singh village, 12 km from here, under Sections 377 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for sodomising their 11-year-old classmate. The incident took place a week ago, while the case was registered on Thursday. Father of the victim in his complaint to the police alleged that the accused took his 11-year-old son to a nearby abandoned place of Mata Rani Mandir where they sodomised him. The victim has been admitted to the hospital. OC Applications for scholarship Amritsar: The Central Board of Secondary Education has invited online applications from students who have passed the Class X examination in 2019 from its affiliated schools for the merit scholarship scheme for single child for plus 2-2019. The renewal of online applications of the Central Board of Secondary Education Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child Class X pass awarded in 2018. The last date of submission of the online application is October18. TNS
