Youth kidnapped by armed persons

He was yet to be located while his family members had lodged a complaint with the rural police in this regard. Shamsher Singh, father of Balwinder Singh, said that a compromise was reached between both families at that time. Among those booked were identified as girl’s father Mukhtiar Singh, his son Anmolpreet Singh, their relatives Jaggi, Nailo, Kulwinder Singh, all residents of Bhangwan village and nine other persons. The police said that efforts were on to trace the youth, however, he was yet to be recovered.

He was yet to be located while his family members had lodged a complaint with the rural police in this regard. The victim had reportedly run away with a 19-year-old girl of the same village. However, after family pressure, they returned home and the boy’s family had returned the girl to her family in the presence of police officials even as she was insisting on staying with him. Shamsher Singh, father of Balwinder Singh, said that a compromise was reached between both families at that time. The incident had occurred a month ago. He alleged on Thursday evening, the girl’s family barged into their house and thrashed the victim. They bundled him in a car and fled away. “Now they say that Balwinder Singh had escaped from their illegal detention and they do not know about his whereabouts,” said Shamsher Singh while fearing for the life of his son. He said they suspect that the accused had kept him in their detention. He urged the police to recover the boy before it is too late. Following his statement, the police have booked around 14 persons. Among those booked were identified as girl’s father Mukhtiar Singh, his son Anmolpreet Singh, their relatives Jaggi, Nailo, Kulwinder Singh, all residents of Bhangwan village and nine other persons. A case under Sections 364, 452, 427, 148 and 149 of the IPC and Arms Act was registered against them. The police said that efforts were on to trace the youth, however, he was yet to be recovered. Raids were on at the suspected places to trace the boy and arrest the kidnappers, said police authorities.
