Ensure upkeep of roads, green belts: MC to PWD

The meeting, presided over by Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu and MC Commissioner Komal Mittal, was marked by the presence of officials of different departments. The Mayor instructed the officials concerned to ensure patch work on 31-km stretch under the BRTS project, upkeep of green belts and bus stops, repair of iron rods and maintenance of street lights among others. The PWD was instructed to construct roads, ensure green belt and complete pending work among others. Officials from Chandigarh asked the PWD officials to complete their work and follow the instructions of the city Mayor. A number of MC officials was present on the occasion.

Mayor chairs meeting of officials ahead of Prakash Purb Amritsar, October 20 Ahead of the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev, a special meeting was held at the Municipal Corporation (MC) office here on Sunday. The meeting, presided over by Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu and MC Commissioner Komal Mittal, was marked by the presence of officials of different departments. PWD Chief Engineer (north) Arun Kumar and another official, Vijay Kumar Chopra, were among those present. The meeting was called to speed up the arrangements for the birth anniversary celebrations. The Mayor instructed the officials concerned to ensure patch work on 31-km stretch under the BRTS project, upkeep of green belts and bus stops, repair of iron rods and maintenance of street lights among others. He also asked officials of different departments to work in proper coordination to make the event a success. The PWD was instructed to construct roads, ensure green belt and complete pending work among others. Officials from Chandigarh asked the PWD officials to complete their work and follow the instructions of the city Mayor. A number of MC officials was present on the occasion.
