Traders fined for selling faulty fridge

The forum has further asked the shopkeeper and the manufacturer to pay Rs 3,000 as compensation for causing mental harassment and Rs 2,000 as litigation expenses. Prem Chand, a resident of Chheharta, had filed a complaint against a shop stating that he had purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator with warranty for Rs 22,000. He added that during the warranty period, the machine's ice box stopped functioning. He added that on the advice of the shopkeeper, he even purchased a new electricity stabilizer but the problem was not solved. It stated that in case the opposite party failed to get the machine repaired, it could replace it for refund the amount.
