Property of 3 drug smugglers worth Rs 1.53 crore freezed

Our CorrespondentTarn Taran, November 2The district police have freezed property worth Rs 1.53 crore of three infamous drug peddlers with immediate effect. The drug-peddlers were Sukhbir Singh of Havelian village from whom 3 kg of heroin was seized and his property worth Rs 73.22 lakh had been freezed. Property worth Rs 19.29 lakh of Balkar Singh of Kalas village was also freezed. The third drug peddler is Jasbir Singh of Cheema Kalan village whose property worth Rs 60.14 lakh has been freezed. The SSP said the fight against drug peddlers was their top priority and the Tarn Taran police would keep taking strict action against drug peddlers.

Our Correspondent Tarn Taran, November 2 The district police have freezed property worth Rs 1.53 crore of three infamous drug peddlers with immediate effect. SSP Dhuruv Dahiya on Saturday said the step had been taken under the guidelines of the office of the Competent Authority, SAFEM (FOP) Act, and NDPS Act, New Delhi, under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act, 1985, (as amended). The drug-peddlers were Sukhbir Singh of Havelian village from whom 3 kg of heroin was seized and his property worth Rs 73.22 lakh had been freezed. Property worth Rs 19.29 lakh of Balkar Singh of Kalas village was also freezed. Around 1-kg of heroin was seized from him, said the SSP. The third drug peddler is Jasbir Singh of Cheema Kalan village whose property worth Rs 60.14 lakh has been freezed. He was arrested with 1 kg of heroin, informed the SSP. These villages fall under the Sarai Amanat Khan police station in Tarn Taran district. The SSP said the fight against drug peddlers was their top priority and the Tarn Taran police would keep taking strict action against drug peddlers. He said property seizures helped break the backbone and the economic support system of major drug peddlers. “We are pursuing many more such cases with the authorities concerned,” said the SSP.
