Rain woes: Exhibition to mark 550th Parkash Purb deferred

Thursday morning began with grey skies and by afternoon, heavy rain with hailstorm lashed throughout the city. The multimedia exhibition is being held to mark the celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev and had cultural activities lined up for evening session. The morning session of the exhibition saw schools and colleges visiting the show, including an art exhibition of 35 paintings inspired by teachings and life of Guru Nanak Dev. A book exhibition on rare spiritual literature was also held by the District Library, in collaboration with Guru Nanak Dev University. The purpose is to engage children in learning the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev and getting to know him through inspired works,” said Rekha Mahajan.
