My son should have been on honour list: IFS officer’s dad

The government is honouring prominent industrialists, businessmen, artists, writers and political figures from Punjab as part of the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Devji. Sarabjit Singh Bedi, an academician, said, “Anmol is an IFS officer. He was also felicitated with Best Officer Trainee by the Ministry of External Affairs in 2018. The ‘hazoori ragis’ at the five Takhts too are on the list.

Amritsar, November 8 Sarabjit Singh Bedi, father of city-lad Anmol Sher Singh Bedi, who stood second in the UPSC exam in 2017, has expressed disappointment over his son not being included in the list of achievers to be honoured by the Punjab Government. The government is honouring prominent industrialists, businessmen, artists, writers and political figures from Punjab as part of the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Devji. Sarabjit Singh Bedi, an academician, said, “Anmol is an IFS officer. He has brought laurels to the state. He was also felicitated with Best Officer Trainee by the Ministry of External Affairs in 2018. However, his achievements have been not acknowledged by the authorities.” Some of the names include former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Puri and former cricketer Kapil Dev and heads of all five Sikh Takhts — Akal Takht, Takht Kesgarh Sahib at Anandpur Sahib, Takht Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo, Takht Hazoor Sahib at Nanded and Takht Patna Sahib. The ‘hazoori ragis’ at the five Takhts too are on the list.
