Trial of ‘arhar’ variety conducted

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, November 12A postgraduate student of agriculture at Khalsa College, Yadwinder Singh, has conducted a successful trial of arhar dal variety PADT-16. The variety was released by the Indian Council of Agricultural research (ICAR). Yadwinder said the new variety needed less time than the earlier varieties. He said the yield was also more than the earlier varieties. He said diversification of pulses could help farmers who have been sticking to wheat-rice monoculture for long.
