AIT allots alternative plots to beneficiaries of 97-Acre Scheme

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, December 6The Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) on Friday allotted residential plots to beneficiaries of the 97-Acre Scheme on alternative space on Ajnala Road. The beneficiaries of scheme have been struggling for the construction on plots for the last five years due to objection by the air force authorities. These 48 beneficiaries had bought residential plots in 97-Acre Scheme on Ajnala Road and Ranjit Avenue through draw of lots on February 14, 2011. On July 26, 2016 the air force issued notice to stop construction of buildings alongside the boundary of Air Force Complex. AIT Chairman Dinesh Bassi stated that alternative space was right of these beneficiaries and it should be delivered on time.

Amritsar, December 6 The Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) on Friday allotted residential plots to beneficiaries of the 97-Acre Scheme on alternative space on Ajnala Road. The beneficiaries of scheme have been struggling for the construction on plots for the last five years due to objection by the air force authorities. These 48 beneficiaries had bought residential plots in 97-Acre Scheme on Ajnala Road and Ranjit Avenue through draw of lots on February 14, 2011. On July 26, 2016 the air force issued notice to stop construction of buildings alongside the boundary of Air Force Complex. These 48 beneficiaries were failed to construct their houses and running from pillar to post since 2016. AIT Chairman Dinesh Bassi stated that alternative space was right of these beneficiaries and it should be delivered on time. “During the last five months, I have made serious efforts to provide the alternative space. They are satisfied with the AIT move. The beneficiaries can construct houses within two years without any penalty. Those, who already approved their plans, no need to pay fee again. We will provide them all the facilities”.
