Amritsar, December 7 Unidentified miscreants decamped with Rs5 lakh from a cash counter of a medical store in the Katra Sher Singh area here on the intervening night of December 6 and 7. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when some nearby vendors found the shutters of the store open. They informed store owner Sanjiv Saini about the incident, who reached the spot. Saini told the police on Friday, he shut down shutters of his medical store — Saini Medicos London House — around 8.15pm. He added in the morning, he received a call from a tea vendor that the shutters of his shop were open. Saini said he immediately rushed to the shop and found Rs5 lakh missing from the cash counter. The police have registered a case in this connection. Police personnel said they were analysing CCTV cameras installed near the shop to find some clues about the thieves.
