Negative certificate or Vaccination proof compulsory in Amritsar to attend public gatherings: Govt

The administration has also announced to strictly enforce the ceiling of 100 persons (for indoor) and 200 persons (for outdoor) for social, religious, sports, entertainment and cultural gatherings. Fines would be imposed on organizers of the events for violating the ceiling limit and on the persons found violating social distancing and without face masks at such gatherings.

With the spread of Covid19, the district administration announced that anyone attending social, religious, or other gatherings will be required to carry a Covid-19 negative certificate or proof of vaccination along with them.

Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Khaira, in an order issued on Sunday, said “The organizers of such events shall ensure that any person attending such event should be either tested negative for Covid 72 hours prior to the event or should have been vaccinated.”

Similarly, the shopkeepers and the customers who would not be wearing face would be tested for Covid-19.

The administration has also announced to strictly enforce the ceiling of 100 persons (for indoor) and 200 persons (for outdoor) for social, religious, sports, entertainment and cultural gatherings. He further said that a fine would be imposed on persons roaming at corded places without wearing face masks and these persons would be stopped and tested for Covid-19 on the spot.

Meanwhile, 110 Covid-19 positive cases were reported from Amritsar on Sunday. Seventy cases were of influenza-like infection while 40 cases were the contact persons of the Covid-19 patients. No death was reported from the district.
