Heroine, pistol, and ammunition recovered from near Indo-Pak border

AMRITSAR: In an early morning operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a cache of narcotics, including heroin, pistol, and ammunition from near the Indo-Pak international border near Amritsar.As per a spokesperson of BSF, on the intervening night of November 25 and 26, the troops of BSF deployed along the Indo-Pak international border near Chak Allah Baksh village in the Amritsar district intercepted an intruding drone from neighboring Pakistanand also heard the distinct sound of an object being dropped by the drone.The troops responded promptly by opening fire in the drones direction. But the flying object flew back after dropping the contraband in the Indian territory.Following a search operation carried out on the first light of the day on Sunday, the BSF troops recovered a large packet comprising five smaller packets of heroin, totaling 5.240kg in weight, 1 Italy-made pistol, 2 magazines, and 20 rounds of ammunition.Notably, the packet containing this contraband was securely wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, and a metallic ring was attached to it for affixing the contraband packet to a drone for its discreet transportation across the border.The BSF spokesperson informed that further investigations and search was in progress.
