Navneet Singh, who had hit an unbeaten double century in the last league match, failed to open his account as he became the third victim of Chaudhary. Abhinav Sharma and Abhishek Kumar played cautiously tried to repair the innings with a sedated 60-run stand before Abhishek was trapped in front by Chaudhary for 18. Left-arm spinner Prerit Dutta then dismissed Rahul Kashyap (1), Satnam Singh (19) and Salil Arora (0) in quick succession to leave the hosts reeling at 215/ 8 in 69 overs. Jalandhar’s efforts to dismiss Amritsar below 250-run mark, however, met a tough resistance from tail-enders Shivam Sharma and Rohit Gulati as the duo put on an unbeaten 59 run stand for ninth wicket to end the day at 274/8. Shivam was batting at 39, while Gulati was giving him company on 18. Gaurav Chaudhary (4/100) and Prerit Dutta (4/93) shared the spoils for Jalandhar.
