Students showcase talent at GNDU fest

Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare, welcomed the chief guest and others. She gave details of the achievements of the youth welfare department. Guru Nanak College, Sukhchainana Sahib, Phagwara, stood third.

Amritsar, September 21 The zonal youth festival for zone D of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) concluded at the Dasmesh Auditorium of the university here today. The affiliated colleges of Kapurthala & Nawanshar district participated in this festival. Eminent theatre personality Jatinder Brar presided over the valedictory function. Renowned drama artist Suresh Pandit was the guest of honor. Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare, welcomed the chief guest and others. She gave details of the achievements of the youth welfare department. The festival was divided into two divisions. Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, emerged as the overall winner in division-A. Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, was the runner-up and Sikh National College, Banga, stood third. In division-B, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Sultanpur Lodhi, was the overall winner whereas Sant Hira Dass Kanya Maha Vidalya, Kala Sanghian, was the runner-up. Guru Nanak College, Sukhchainana Sahib, Phagwara, stood third. While congratulating student-artistes, Jatinder Brar said youth festivals helped students develop confidence and teach them how to achieve success. He congratulated Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare, for successfully organising the youth festival.
