Punjabi University’s MBA student commits suicide following poor results

Patiala: After facing a depression following his low marks obtained in the recent exams a 21-year-old student of Punjabi University today allegedly committed suicide in his paying guest in Patiala. He was staying in a PG opposite to the Punjabi University from past many months.Deceased Sartaj Anzar was a student of MBA and hails from Jammu and Kashmir. said, SHO Sadar.Professor Gurcharan Singh , in-charge for MBA department in Punajbi University said, "I am unaware of the incident as well of the student. He was facing depression from last few days since he witnessed a poor result in his MBA part 2." It is unfortunate that any student had committed suicide."

He was staying in a PG opposite to the Punjabi University from past many months.Deceased Sartaj Anzar was a student of MBA and hails from Jammu and Kashmir. On the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, he allegedly hanged himself to a ceiling fan in his room. He used the curtain of the room to hang himself.His father Mohammad Anzar, a cop posted at Bhilwara in Jammu and Kashmir, took away the body of his son after taking permission from the SDM Patiala. The case at Sadar Police station has been registered under sections of CrPC to inquest further proceedings.The police claimed that since Sunday night Sartaj was not answering the phone calls of his family members following which his father asked Sartaj's room-mates to check. "There are around ten rooms in the PG where the students are staying. The fellow students found him hanging today morning and revealed the same to family members of the deceased as well as the police. He was facing depression from last few days since he witnessed a poor result in his MBA part 2." said, SHO Sadar.Professor Gurcharan Singh , in-charge for MBA department in Punajbi University said, "I am unaware of the incident as well of the student. The result for the first year is yet to be declared. It is unfortunate that any student had committed suicide."
