Amritsar, November 22Residents of Rayya and Butala villages paid tributes to veteran freedom fighter Jathedar Sohan Singh Jalalusman today. Staff members and students of Jathedar Sohan Singh Jalalusman Memorial Public School and Shaheed Darshan Pheruman Public School also took part in the event organised to pay tributes to the freedom fighter. Paying tributes, present MLA Santokh Singh Bhalaipur announced that the death anniversary of the jathedar would be observed every year. The jathedar remained an MLA for five consecutive terms from the Beas constituency and also went to jail. After the bhog of akhand path, a kirtan was performed by the students.
