Anantapur: Almatti Reservoir has been receiving constant heavy inflows from upstream Krishna basin since past few days. As a result the reservoir has till Tuesday filled up to 82 percent of its storage capacity. Inflows at the reservoir have been 2.31 lakh cusecs while outflows are 1.50 lakh cusecs towards downstream reservoirs including Narayanapur and Srisailam. Narayanapur Dam is receiving 2.18 lakh cusecs with outflow from here being 1.74 cusecs. Tungabhadra Dam however is receiving poor inflows with water level on Tuesday being maintained constantly at 97.55 TMC ft of storage and level of 1632 ft. TB Board authorities said last year the reservoir had just 40 TMC ft. With hardly any outflows from the dam inundated structures including Purandara mantap are surfacing and access to Lord Sriram temple at Hampi has been restored. Srisailam Dam whose gross capacity is 215.81 TMC ft is currently at 211.96 TMC ft after receiving heavy inflows from upstream parts of Krishna basin in the past few days. The dam has reached 99 percent of its storage capacity. Inflow here is 209586 cusecs while outflow is 177321 cusecs. The capacity of Nagarjunasagar Dam has reached 211.96 TMC ft against its gross capacity of 312.05 TMC ft. The dam is continuing to receive constant inflows. Major irrigation projects located in the state have 732.85 TMC ft of water against their maximum capacity of 865.64 TMC ft. The storage had been just 403.37 TMC ft last year. Krishna basin has received 527.97 TMC ft of water in the present season while it was 323 TMC ft last year as against total capacity of 601 TMC ft.
